When your employer decides to go to the UK for various reasons, as their domestic worker’s visa in a private household, you can join them through a permit that allows you to access the UK and remain there for a particular period. Some of the requirements for the UK domestic workers visa application are;
Age and relationship with employer – Visa For Domestic Worker
The age bracket for UK domestic workers visa applications is from 18 years to 65 years old. Your relationship with your employer as a domestic worker in a private house is for at least one year. Also, you cannot change your employer once you get to the UK and your intention is to remain as a full-time private household employee for your current employer.
Visa application – General Guidance
The term domestic workers in such applications refer to cooks, cleaners, chauffeurs, nannies, and those with the responsibility to provide personal care for the employer and his or her family. As a domestic worker, your dependants cannot come with you, but there is a provision for them to apply for the general visitor visa if they want to gain access to the UK on their right.
Written Agreement – This Is Required From Your Employer
A letter of understanding between you and your employer is the other requirement, which should outline the terms and conditions of your employment and that your employer is ready to comply with the national minimum wage as set by the UK. You can come in with your employer or your employer’s husband, wife, civil partner, or child only if they have a visitor visa.
Different rules apply to you if you’re a domestic worker who applied for entry to the UK on or before 5 April 2012.
- extend your stay in the UK every 12 months
- apply to settle permanently in the UK after 5 years
- bring your partner and children under 18
- move to a similar job in the UK
