What changed for tourist visa applicants in 2019?

The earlier Embassy update drew attention to travel bookings, accommodation details and evidence that an applicant could support their stay in Thailand. Those documents remain useful to prepare, but the exact upload requirements depend on the current visa category and Embassy checklist.

The previous version of this post presented a “30-day single-entry Tourist Visa” alongside the 60-day Tourist Visa. This caused confusion: a Tourist Visa and visa-exempt entry are different routes.

What does the London Embassy list now?

For its standard single-entry Tourist Visa, the Royal Thai Embassy in London lists a passport biodata page, recent photograph, evidence of current location, travel booking confirmation and proof of accommodation in Thailand. The Embassy says a single-entry TR visa can allow a stay of up to 60 days from entry, subject to the permission granted on arrival.

What about financial evidence?

Be prepared to show that you can support your visit if financial evidence is requested during the visa process or when entering Thailand. The evidence and any amount specified can vary with the applicable route and instructions. Do not rely on a fixed sum quoted in a 2019 article as your current application checklist.
