Thai single-entry Tourist Visa: documents and finances
A Thai single-entry Tourist Visa, also called a TR visa, is for an eligible person travelling to Thailand for tourism. The Royal Thai Embassy in London states that it is valid for one entry and can allow a stay of up to 60 days from entry. Check the date Immigration actually grants you on arrival.

What does the London Embassy currently request?
For a standard tourist application, its published checklist includes:
- Your passport biodata page and a recent photograph.
- Evidence of where you are currently located.
- Travel booking details, including onward travel.
- Evidence of accommodation in Thailand, such as a booking or invitation.

Do you need to show money for your trip?
Be ready to demonstrate that you can support yourself during your visit if the embassy or an immigration officer requests it. Financial evidence could include suitable bank records or other documents specified in the checklist for your application location. Do not assume that a figure from an old article is the amount you must upload today.
The documents requested for a visa application and evidence an officer may ask to see when you enter Thailand are not necessarily identical. Keep access to your travel, accommodation and financial information while travelling.
Tourist Visa or visa exemption?
A single-entry Tourist Visa and visa-exempt entry are separate routes. The right option depends on your nationality, intended stay and travel plans. If you know you need more time than visa exemption permits, consider applying for the appropriate visa before departure rather than planning a visa run.

Eligible applicants can use the official Thailand e-Visa website. Select the correct visa category and the embassy or consulate responsible for where you are applying. Check its document list before uploading evidence or booking non-refundable travel.
