Bangkok to Pattaya Bus: Routes, Tickets & Airport Services

Travelling between Bangkok and Pattaya by bus is an affordable option for visitors and people living in Thailand. Coach services connect Bangkok bus terminals with Pattaya, while separate airport routes serve passengers travelling between Suvarnabhumi Airport, Pattaya and Jomtien.

Before buying your ticket, check the departure point and arrival station carefully. A bus to North Pattaya and a bus to Jomtien may leave you in different parts of the city, so choose the route that suits your accommodation or appointment.

Bangkok to Pattaya Bus Routes

Roong Reuang Coach lists services between Pattaya and Ekkamai, Mo Chit 2 and the Bang Na boarding point. Check the operator’s current timetable before travelling, particularly if you need an early or late departure.

Ekkamai Bus Terminal

Ekkamai is a convenient departure point if you are staying around Bangkok’s Sukhumvit area. The bus terminal is beside BTS Ekkamai, making it accessible by Skytrain.

When buying your ticket, confirm that you are booking the coach service and check its arrival point in Pattaya. Allow time to find the ticket counter and boarding platform.

Mo Chit 2 Bus Terminal

Mo Chit 2 is another option for travelling between Bangkok and Pattaya. It is on Kamphaeng Phet 2 Road.

Mo Chit 2 bus terminal and BTS Mo Chit are separate locations. Plan your connection to the bus terminal rather than assuming you can board the Pattaya coach directly outside the Skytrain station.

Bang Na Boarding Point

The operator also lists a Bang Na boarding point. This may suit passengers staying in eastern Bangkok, but it is important to confirm the exact location and departure time before setting off.

Check the operator’s instructions for buying tickets at this boarding point.

Arriving at Pattaya Bus Terminal

The main Pattaya bus terminal for Bangkok coach services is on North Pattaya Road. From there, you will need onward transport to your hotel, home or appointment.

Have your destination saved on your phone, preferably with a map pin. Confirm the fare before using transport where the price is agreed directly with the driver.

Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya and Jomtien

If you are arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport, check the direct airport coach services before travelling into central Bangkok to catch another bus.

Roong Reuang Coach lists separate airport routes to Pattaya and Jomtien. Its airport ticket counter is on Level 1 near Gate 8. Check your booking confirmation for the departure instructions and destination.

Choose your arrival station according to where you are staying. Do not assume that every airport bus stops at both North Pattaya and Jomtien.

These services are for Suvarnabhumi Airport. If your flight arrives at Don Mueang, you will need to arrange a different connection.

Pattaya to Bangkok by Bus

For the return journey, choose the Bangkok arrival terminal that best suits your plans. Ekkamai may be convenient for destinations along Sukhumvit, while Mo Chit 2 may suit an onward journey from northern Bangkok.

Check the return timetable separately. Departure times from Pattaya are not necessarily the same as those from Bangkok.

How Much Do Bus Tickets Cost?

The fare depends on your route and service. Check the current price directly with the operator or through its official booking system before travelling.

Include the cost of reaching the departure station and travelling from the arrival station to your final destination. A slightly different route may be more convenient once these connections are considered.

How Long Does the Journey Take?

The operator describes the main Bangkok–Pattaya coach journeys as approximately two hours, depending on traffic. Treat this as an estimate rather than a guaranteed arrival time.

Allow additional time for travelling to the terminal, boarding and reaching your final destination. Traffic, weekends and public holidays can affect your overall journey.

If you are travelling for a flight, visa appointment or passport appointment, leave a generous margin. Avoid planning around the fastest possible journey.

Booking Tickets and Taking Luggage

Use the operator’s official website to check which routes can be booked online and which require counter purchases. Advance booking can help you plan, but always read the departure and check-in instructions.

Before paying, confirm:

  • Your departure date and time.
  • The correct boarding point.
  • The arrival station.
  • The luggage allowance and any additional charges.
  • The rules for changing or cancelling your ticket.

Keep passports, money, medication and other valuables with you. Check with the operator before travelling with oversized luggage or several suitcases.

Coach, Minivan or Private Transfer?

A coach can be a practical choice when you are comfortable travelling between bus stations. If you choose a minivan, check its exact boarding point, destination and luggage arrangements before booking.

A private transfer may be more convenient for families, passengers with substantial luggage or anyone travelling directly to an appointment. Compare the full journey, including connections, rather than just the ticket price.

Travelling to Bangkok for a Visa or Passport Appointment

If your journey is connected with a visa application or British passport appointment, confirm the appointment location first. Your Bangkok bus terminal may still be some distance from the building you need to visit.

Keep your appointment confirmation, passport and supporting documents accessible. Plan the final connection and allow extra time for traffic.

Thai Visa Express can explain the appointment arrangements relevant to the visa or passport service you are using.
