Pattaya markets shopping in Thailand is a national pastime, there is so much choice at hand in Pattaya it is difficult to not find exactly what you’re looking for at a very good price. Lots of ex-pat retirees shop at these local markets which are an extremely good value for money, if you are on a retirement visa, for example, you may need to watch the pennies.

Below is a brief description of some of the main markets, supermarkets and hypermarkets located in general to central Pattaya. All of the markets, supermarkets and hypermarkets are only a short Songtaew (Baht bus) or motorcycle taxi ride away. All the markets, supermarkets and hypermarkets also have transportation nearby to help you on your return journey back home.

Local Pattaya Markets

Pattaya has several local markets selling all kinds of things including clothing, used mobile telephones, shoes, fruits, fresh food, clothes, meat, eggs, etc. Most markets have stalls in the open air or located under a large roof in area. Some of them are open only weekends or other specific days. These Pattaya markets can be quite crowded. We have many markets close to Pattaya immigration office many ex-pats need to visit this area for their regular 90 day reporting in Thailand.

Supermarkets

There are several supermarket selling food and household merchandise. Each of the Hypermarkets also has a supermarket inside. Tops, Foodland and Best are supermarkets in Pattaya.

Hypermarket Pattaya City 

There is a wide range of products selling at hypermarket including clothes, appliances, furniture, electronic goods, automobile accessories, bicycles, etc. Supermarkets are also located inside. Hypermarket serves as a one-stop shopping centre. Large car parks with free parking are available. There are food courts, fast food chains and other restaurants. In North Pattaya, Big C is in a shopping mall which also has many shops, restaurants and cinemas on the top floor.

North Pattaya Markets

Tesco Lotus is located in North Pattaya, providing more than 36,000 items covering a wide range of products such as household goods, furniture, clothes, as well as retail shops, stalls fast food restaurants, fresh food stall, food court and exchange service. Spacious parking can cater 1,000 cars and 100 motorcycles. Location: 221/19 Moo 5, North Pattaya Rd. Big C Supercenter

Big C Supercenter is located on Pattaya 2nd Rd. Easily found when take Sukhumvit Rd. towards Pattaya and turn right at north Pattaya Rd. and left at Pattaya 2nd Rd. It offers a wide assortment of goods at reasonable prices in a clean and comfortable environment. It provides a one-stop shopping including dry food, fresh food and non-food including meat, fresh fruits, vegetables, clothes, appliances. It is located in a convenient location around community center. There are also promotions of various products for a better value for money. Best Supermarket

Best Supermarket offers many imported western items and it has been long served expat in Pattaya. It also has an extensive selection of liquors. It is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Pattaya 2nd Rd. at the Dolphin Roundabout that intersects with 2nd Rd., North Pattaya Rd. There is no car park available but curbside parking can usually be found. Location: 179/178 North Pattaya (near the Dolphin Roundabout), Naklua, Banglamung, Chonburi. Opening hours – daily 24 hours.

Naklua Sunday Market

This is a local open-air market held every Sunday where you can buy food, fresh food, fruits, clothes, bags, DVDs, pets, lingerie, electrical appliances and many more at a very reasonable price. Location: Sawang Fa Rd. (between Pattaya-Naklua Rd. and Sukhumvit highway), Naklua Beach, Pattaya, Chonburi. Opening Hours: Every Sunday

Big ‘C’ Extra

Big ‘C’ Extra, a retail chain hypermarket offers a variety of high-quality, imported as well as local products in their supermarket section. There are also reasonably priced Big ‘C’ Extra own-brand items including fresh food, groceries, textile, appliances and bazaar which is a section grouping all types of products in one area such as kitchenware, sports equipment, furniture, gardening tools. Made In Thailand Night Plaza

Made in Thailand Night Plaza is a conglomerate of independent shopping stalls, a great place for bargain shopping. Gifts, clothes, souvenirs and household items are available here. The available goods predominantly caters Thais but there are also some outfits in big sizes. On the contrary to its name that suggests the opening hours during the night time, the market is open during the day time until late. Location: Pattaya 2nd Rd. (between the intersection of Soi Honey Inn and Soi 9), Pattaya, Chonburi. Opening Hours: Daily from 09.00 am. – 12.00 am.

The Market Pattaya

The Market Pattaya  markets has goods stalls spreading over the area of 13 rai. It brings a similarity of Chatuchak market in Bangkok with over 450 stores including apparel products, IT, furniture, handicrafts, art, local products, international restaurants and fast food. There are also music or dance performances by students on a small stage some evenings. Location: Pattaya 2nd Rd. (near Soi 5), Nongprue, Banglamung, Pattaya, Chonburi. Opening Hours: Daily.

Tops Supermarket Pattaya

The supermarket offers a variety goods, fresh food, vegetables, fruits, meat, fish and seafood, dairy, bakery products and wines from all parts of Thailand as well as imported products from other countries. Food Land Pattaya Central Road

Located on Central Pattaya Rd., only 150 m from the main turn off from Sukhumvit Rd., Foodland has a fine reputation among foreigners and locals due to friendly service and quality range of food products offers a large variety of imported and local products including daily oven roast paprika chicken and homemade sandwiches at Butcher’s Choice counter. The service teams are well-trained and friendly. It is also a place to eat and meet friends. The supermarket covers 1,600 sqm and parking space can cater 50 cars. An open-air weekend market is held every Friday, Saturday and Sunday during evening hours. It has over 500 stalls selling food and varieties of products such as clothes, shoes, sunglasses, night wear, watches, lingerie, DVDs at reasonable prices. There is also a bar to unwind after the shopping. Location: Located on Thepprasit Rd., from Sukhumvit Rd. (between Outlet Mall and Tesco Lotus South Pattaya Branch. The market is located 5 minutes walk from Sukhumvit Rd.), Chonburi. Opening Hours: Fri – Sun from 06.00 pm. – 10.00 pm.

Soi Buakhao Market – CD Food & More 

The market offers clothes, CDs, movies on DVDs, household items, plants, fresh food, bars and restaurants at bargain prices. There is also an extended evening market further along the same road. Location: Located at the end of Soi Buakhao, closed to South Pattaya Rd., across from the Friendship Supermarket, Chonburi. Opening Hours: Every Tuesday and Friday in the evening.
